Carbon Cue
A carbon cue is a billiard cue whose body is built from carbon fiber composite. It removes the warping problem of wood and keeps the same hit feel for years. Masi Carbon builds its carbon cues and shafts in its own workshop in Türkiye.
What Is a Carbon Cue?
Traditional cues are made of maple or similar hardwood. Wood is a living material: it absorbs humidity, dries and eventually bends. Carbon fiber composite is produced by compressing oriented fibers with resin, so it is virtually unaffected by temperature and humidity. A carbon cue behaves the same from one room to another, from summer to winter.

The thin-walled carbon structure reduces end mass, so cue ball deflection drops on english shots.

- Discipline
- Carom favours a thinner tip and control-oriented taper; pool favours a thicker tip and firmer feel. Start from the game you play.
- Tip diameter
- 11.5–12.0 mm is common in carom, 12.4–12.8 mm in pool. Tip diameter drives hit feel and english control.
- Joint
- The connection between shaft and butt. A wrong choice means your shaft will not fit — always state it on the order.
- Weight
- A heavier cue carries more mass, a lighter one swings faster. If unsure, start from the middle of the range.
- Extra shaft
- Adding a second shaft to the same butt gives you two playing characters in one cue.

What is the difference between a carbon cue and a wooden cue? +
A carbon cue does not warp with humidity or heat, keeps a constant hit feel for years and deflects less on english shots. A wooden cue gives a more traditional feel but needs periodic straightening and care.

Is a carbon cue suitable for 3-cushion carom? +
Yes. Carom is where carbon shafts spread fastest. Dedicated models with thinner tips and control-oriented tapers are produced for carom players.
How do I maintain a carbon cue? +
The body needs no maintenance. Wipe the shaft with a dry cloth; never use chemicals or sandpaper. Replace tip and ferrule as they wear.
Is a carbon cue resistant to heat and humidity? +
Carbon fiber composite does not absorb moisture and does not change dimension with temperature, unlike wood.
Can I order a carbon cue to my own specifications? +
