Accessory Choice: Chalk, Glove and Tip Care

Right chalk, glove use and tip shaping/replacement tips.

Chalk, glove and tip care affect shot quality as much as the cue.

Chalk

Quality chalk reduces miscues. Very hard or dusty chalk dirties both your hand and the table. Regular chalking habit is important; not before every shot but every few shots the tip is chalked.

Glove

A glove keeps the shaft clean and prevents slip from sweat and oil. Some players feel better without a glove; preference is personal. Thin models designed for the bridge hand are common.

Tip

The tip hardens or loses shape over time. Light filing can preserve roundness; tip replacement is needed when heavily worn. A professional tip (e.g. layered tip) provides longer life and consistent hit. You can find tip and chalk options on the Masi Carbon accessories page.
